About me

Hello, I’m Sarah (Jooyoung) Kim, an art historian from Busan, South Korea. My path in the arts has taken me across continents, starting with a BA in History of Art from the University of Pennsylvania and later completing an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. Both experiences deepened my fascination with how contemporary art interacts with space and culture.

Currently, I’m focused on developing ideas for site-specific art projects and curatorial proposals, where I aim to explore how art interacts with the spaces it inhabits. I believe that contemporary art is at its most engaging when it challenges us to think about our environment and our place within it.

While art remains my primary focus, I also enjoy discovering new culinary experiences—though more from the perspective of exploring different cultures and traditions.

Through Sobremesas, I’m excited to create a space where we can slow down, reflect on art, and engage in meaningful dialogue. I hope you’ll join me in savoring these moments of contemplation, much like the tradition of lingering after a meal, where the most meaningful conversations often begin.
